DescriptionA portrait mounted as an album page. The background is dark cream paper finely stippled in gold. A young man is depicted in an elaborate white turban with plumes seated, contemplating a flower, a narcissus, held in his left hand. He is clad in a red robe belted with a green sash, worn under a lavender coat decorated with embroidered designs in gold of cloud scrolls and flowers. Gray-green stockings and black slippers complete the attire.Two corners show a golden arabesque on a jade green ground, and on the narrow panel at top is a similar arabesque on blue. Drawn in gold in the margins are flowers, trees, birds and a lion pouncing on a spotted gazelle.On View
