DescriptionScene from the Genji Monogatari on a 6 fold screen shows 2 houses of Genji's Rokujo Palace for his 4 ladies. On the proper left, a noble man and a lady are seated inside the house while watching trees and blossoms in outside. Her attendants, some are seated on verandah and some are wandering a garden. A stream of water with trees and bushes are placed in the center. Another quarter is shown on the proper right. Inside the second house a lady and her 6 attendants are seated while watching three women, 2 of them are holding a flower vase while the third lady is arranging a flowering branch.On View
