DescriptionClassical vase-shaped body on a round pedestal foot has a short molded pouring lip opposite a curved, reeded and forked handle which is decorated at its highest point and its lower juncture with acanthus leaves and at the upper juncture with grape clusters and leaves. A mask of Bacchus is applied immediately below the pouring lip. The mid-section of the body is decorated with a frieze of dancing cherubs and satyrs surrounded by grapevines. The lower section of the body is decorated with large curved acanthus leaves and small grape leaves. There are bands of a floral/geometric motif which decorate the top edge, shoulder and foot. The neck and foot are decorated with curved flutes. Grape clusters overlap the floral and geometric band on the foot and the frieze of cherubs on the body.On View
