DescriptionThe chest is of carved walnut and is a rectangular sarcophagus shape, has a domed hinged lid and a carved frieze of acanthus leaves. The body is curved and has a fluted design. In the center, carved in high relief, a fleur-de-lis is encircled by a wreath of acanthus leaves. The corners are also carved with the acanthus leaf design. It rests on carved lion-paw feet.On View
