DescriptionInterior of tavern with view of several figures brawling. Five figures grouped together in center of foreground. Woman grabs at sprawling man holding a pitcher in his right hand. Second woman restrains man attempting to pull out his sword. A man, partially obscured, tries to move between the four figures. Behind and to the right of the central group three figures observe the action. One smokes a pipe, second raises his glass in a toast and third stands laughing. Behind and to the left of the central group, a man holds head of second man with one arm and pummels him with his free hand. A boy rushes towards the figures from the right and a man, playing a fiddle, stands behind them. A pipe, pitcher, playing cards, backgammon board, chips, broom and hat are scattered on floor in the foreground. A chandelier hangs from the ceiling in the middleground.
