DescriptionOutdoor scene with several people and animals in front of ruins. In foreground at left, a woman, holding a child, sits on the ground before a pillar. She removes a cloth from a wicker basket at her right. A second pillar is behind the basket. A stone lintel connects the pillars. At right are two dogs. One sniffs at ground, other turns and looks towards seated woman. A group of figures recline on the ground while eating in center of middleground. A man with his back to the viewer stands next to the reclining figures. A second figure on horseback leads a second horse away from the group. Two cows lie on ground at right. Hazy ruins at left. More people and cows are on a hill in the background at right.
