DescriptionSt. Jerome, in a scarlet robe, seated before the opening of a cave in the midst of a rocky landscape. He has laid his book aside to remove a thorn from the paw of a lion seated next to him at the right. Upper left background, another view of St. Jerome in a hair shirt, kneeling on the ground with his hand on a book and his eyes turned upward.
