Curator NotesChrist and his disciples are depicted in the traditional manner positioned around a long narrow table which extends from the left to the right side of the composition. Two groups of five disciples are on the left and right sides of the painting. St. John is seated at Christ's left and leans toward him. Judas is isolated, standing in front of the table. A night sky illuminated by the light of a silvery full moon is seen through the openings in the wall behind the figures.
