DescriptionIn the center, the Madonna, seated in a rose garden, holding the Christ Child. St. Catherine, seated to the left of the Madonna, receives a ring from the Christ Child. St. Barbara, wearing a gown with miniature towers, small "b"'s and an "a" embroidered at the neckline, is seated to the Virgin's left. In the foreground to the right, St. Cecelia, holding a bridal coronet, with her name inscribed on the border of her bodice and to the left, St. Ursula, wearing an ornate costume and high jewel-studded cap with arrows at her feet. Hedge of roses behind the figures and a trellis of grape vines provide a window-like opening for a view of the city of Bruges. Two angels hover at the top of the composition.On View
