DescriptionAryballos with bronze suspension chain. Free blown of transparent yellow-green glass. Spherical body, columnar neck with rim folded down, doubled back up and then folded outward and flattened. 2 ribbed trailed handles attached at top of shoulder and middle of neck; the ends against the neck flattened out at top and bottom. Fine concentric wheel-cut bands around body. Slight indentation in bottom. Bronze woven chain attached to two handles by bronze rings closed with twisted ends. Two chains from each handle ring attached at top end to two similar rings. These rings in turn attached to a larger ring. Above that a short length of woven chain and at top a large suspension ring. Vessel has light interior incrustation.On View
