DescriptionCarving of a polar bear in walrus ivory with inlaid, light blue glass beads for eyes. The bear has a narrow body with extended head having ears, mouth, and nostrils carved in relief. The hind legs are curled under the body, the forepaws extended forward. A hole for a line enters the carving and the rear and divides into two holes beneath the shoulders, indicating that the pieces functioned as some kind of toggle. On View
