DescriptionThe painting is divided into three separate levels depicting various scenes. A figure in a boat on dark, storm-tossed waters is in the lower level. Mountainous shores with the figure of a gigantic polyphemus vomiting at left and a harpy on a globe at center are depicted in the middle level. The upper level consists of clouds with a reclining nude youth looking downward at left, a phoenix at center and Apollo's chariot at right.
