DescriptionThe nude figure of Daniel is roused from his sleep (symbo- lized by the nightmarish masks beneath the platform on which he sits) by a trumpeting angel in the sky above him. Densely packed figures, which inhabit the background, are personifications of the Seven Deadly Sins. The scene is based on a drawing by Michelangelo called IL SOGNO (The Dream).
