DescriptionThe vertical plaque is the left wing of a diptych, with hinges on the right side. The inset verre eglomise plaque depicts the seated "Madonna Lactans" surrounded by scrolling foliage and a border of inscriptions bearing the names of saints and identifications of the relics mounted on vellum. The verre eglomise plaque is set in a wood frame, gilded on the front and painted with scrolling foliage on the back.On View
