Curator NotesThe figurine is made from walrus ivory darkened to a light brown color with a slightly darker core visible in the back. The figure stands fully erect with a rounded head having a slightly flattened facial plane upon which faint markings for eyes and mouth have become nearly effaced. A groove runs under the chin and over the top of the head. The torso is elongated, unelaborated, with the arms carved in low relief, one held in front and the other behind. The rear arm shows indications of incised fingers. The legs are carved in parallel, slightly bent at the knees, separated by a string-sawn slot but joined at the feet.
