Curator NotesHexagonal silver vase with a band of damascened gold ornament overlaid and beaten into the silver midway from the base in a rhododendron pattern. On the neck of the vase is an inscription in raised gold letters: If eyes were made for seeing, then beauty is its own excuse for being.
